SURGERY in LASER DENTISTRY

The Second-Level University Master of Surgery in Laser Dentistry is an advanced postgraduate educational programme designed to provide highly specialized theoretical knowledge and clinical competencies in the use of laser technologies for contemporary dental and oral surgery practice. 

The Master aims to educate highly qualified dental professionals capable of applying laser technologies safely, effectively and according to the principles of evidence-based dentistry.Specifically, the programme intends to:provide an advanced understanding of laser physics, optics and laser-tissue interactions;develop comprehensive knowledge of the characteristics, indications and limitations of the principal dental laser wavelengths;provide advanced clinical training in laser-assisted procedures involving oral surgery, periodontology, implantology, endodontics, restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry and oral medicine;develop competencies in photobiomodulation, photodynamic therapy and minimally invasive laser-assisted surgical procedures;promote the application of internationally recognized laser safety protocols and current regulatory standards;strengthen participants’ ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and incorporate evidence-based clinical protocols into daily practice;develop research methodology skills through the planning, execution and presentation of an original scientific dissertation;promote interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in advanced dental care.Graduates will acquire the scientific knowledge, technical skills and clinical judgement necessary to integrate laser technology into comprehensive patient management, improving treatment outcomes, reducing surgical morbidity and enhancing the quality of patient care.
